2012 Volvo XC60 T6

Volvo's XC60 T6 R-Design is the newest Volvo variant from Swedish performance tuners Polestar, who work exclusively with the auto maker.

R-Design comes with a 3.0-liter, 325-hp, 354-lb-ft turbocharged inline-six, which has 25 horsepower and 29 lb-ft of torque more than standard T6 trims. T6 also comes with all-wheel-drive, attached to a six-speed automatic, kicking in 3,000 rpms - which propels it from 0 to 60 mph in 6.6 seconds.

Volvo Looks To Polish Image

Volvo cars have a reputation for quality, as well as performance. The foreign auto maker is looking to "polish" their image and add luxury. A move to wards fresh designs, along with better fuel economy, is on the way.

Volvo's new collision avoidance system, "City Safe," is raising the benchmark for driver- safety technology. The new collision avoidance system was designed with the statistics that roughly 75 percent of automobile collisions occur at or below 20 miles per hour in mind.
