Volvo C70 Inscription Makes its Way to L.A.

Volvo recently announced that production of its C70 hardtop convertible would be coming to an end in 2013, but that doesn't mean the Scandinavian coupe is going out quietly. Rather, Volvo is planning a special edition to be shown off at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show, and it brings the vehicle's presence to a new aesthetic level.

Officially dubbed the 2012 Volvo C70 Inscription, it gains a plethora of exclusive upgrades that end the vehicle's sixteen-year run with a bang. Among the more noticeable exterior features are its painted grille, 18-inch, chrome wheels, and distinctive 'Inscription' badging. Interior wise, the Inscription gains a leather-covered dashboard, Sovereign Hide upholstery, custom embroidery with contrasting stitching, and aluminum inlays.

With so many changes, it only makes sense that Volvo would want to ensure drivers that the heart of a true C70 is still beating under the hood. That's why the vehicle keeps the well-performing turbocharged, 2.5-liter, 5-cylinder engine, which unleashes 230 horsepower.

What does Volvo have planned after the C70 Inscription? Reports are already claiming that the company has begun work on a next-gen convertible to replace the current Volvo C70 once production at the Uddevalla factory ends, while others claim that the Volvo Concept You could make it into production. Either way, the future is looking bright for the Volvo lineup.

For now, you can test drive the C70, or any other new Volvo, at 3650 Weston Road in Davie, FL 33331 by contacting Weston Volvo online or by phone at (888) 330-8007.
